KM of DC, MD and VA group went down to Richmond joining the Richmond Balintawak group for the GM Taboada Seminar. GM Bobby was reviewing students and lead an intensive training session! He shared his unique brand of Balintawak known for it’s speed, power, and control.

Kapatiran Mandirigma of VA/MD/DC (www.flowstrikes.com) and Balintawak Cuentada Taboada System hosted the 2017 Balintawak Arnis Invasion (B.A.I). This event was to celebrate and promote Filipino Martial Arts and Filipino culture. KM has invited top instructors all over the US to share their knowledge at this prestigious event. The goal was to build long lasting friendships, unity, brotherhood, and most of all, having fun. The event took place at NOVA Field House.

GGM Ernesto A. Presas Legacy Gathering
Kapatiran Mandirigma hosted the largest Gathering of Kombatan Instructor’s, Master’s and Grandmaster’s in the United States. It was held on June 23-25, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. The event is to honor the legacy of GGM Ernesto A. Presas and the art he had left to his students.

Another great Balintawak Cuentada Session. Session is open to all at no cost. The purpose is to build camaraderie within the FMA population here in VA/MD/DC. We will be planning on doing these get together once a month with combined FMA systems. Training starts 9am-11:30 then lunch then 12:15-3pm. I only ask donations for the food portion. Our KM mom will be providing delicious FOOD as always. Look out for the next one. Thank you for all that showed up from near and far. Thanks to Guro Cy Bongon for supporting the event.
KM crew supporting our friend GM Dan Medina, showcasing the Derobio art of eskrima. This successful event was held at the MGM National Harbor. Excellent demonstrations by GM Dennis Brown, GM Troy Price, GM Michael DePasquale, GM Ali Shabazz, GM Eddie Thomas, So-Shihan Carlos Delacruz and GM Dan Medina.

An awesome seminar by GM Tom Dy Tang. He is currently the torch bearer of Kalis Ilustrisimo, was GM Tony Diego’s longest student and logged the most training time in the Ilustrisimo art. Tom was meticulously trained by Mang Tony to be his successor, upon his passing. Tom currently teaches a small private group in Vancouver B.C.
